This weekend was our town's Arts and Crafts Fair. I went and enjoyed seeing all the creativity in our little town. Last year I had a booth at the Fair and learned a few things that made me decide against participating this year.
1. It is still hot in Texas in mid-September.
2. Paper products do not lend themselves to outdoor events.
3. People would rather spend $5.00 on food items than $5.00 on something you spent an hour handcrafting.
4. I'd rather check out all the other booths than sit all day manning my own booth.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the experience. It was fun seeing folks I hadn't seen in a couple of years and meeting new people in town. I'd just rather go and shop for a few hours than to try and sell. Who knows. Maybe next year I'll get a booth again.
